Living Debt Free - A Great Personal Goal

There is an old saying that is still true today – neither a borrower nor a lender be. Debt can take over a life, ruin relationships, and cause disastrous problems when mismanaged. Most people acquire some debt in their daily living, and there are good goals that may be impossible to reach without borrowing, such as a purchase of a very large and expensive item like a house or new vehicle.

It is the small debts that seem to get in the way of happy living today. The current economic credit crunch is good in one way, that it is harder for people to get loans. Unfortunately, the damage is already done for many people who find themselves way overextended and in debt.

Living debt free
is a wonderful goal, one that everyone should aspire to achieve. Using credit cards to live on indicates that you are living beyond your means. The credit card companies did not care, until perhaps today, that they kept raising your limits and you kept using those limits up. As long as you paid the interest and tiny minimum payments, they looked the other way, not caring what debt was doing to your family life.

It is important to reduce debts and free yourself from that burden of giving away your monetary power, and your peace of mind. Live cheaper, find more cash to pay down debt and live free. Keep that interest for your own family. You can be so much happier without debt.
